I recently spoke on the topic of event signage being more than just a profit-gobbling line item at the Road Runners Club of America National Convention in Washington DC. (https://www.rrca.org/) There’s no doubt race directors are evolving on this issue. While some event pros still part grudgingly with signage budgets, it was good to see the high level of interest at my session, and a generally sophisticated understanding of the critical communication roles race signage can, and should, play.
Hopefully folks got something out of my presentation. For conference attendees who could not attend (and for all my Signage Nerd readers), I’ve posted the presentation here. Note that I tend to be very visual with these things, using images as examples and explaining as I go. You may have to extrapolate what words might have gone with the photos, but I hope most of this is self-explanatory.
Until next time. Be well. — MP
